COMUNICATO STAMPA
Marco Manenti will be forced to take a break from competition following a crash during the fourth stage of the Tour of Denmark.
The Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber rider was involved in a crash in the final part of the stage, around one kilometre from the finish line. Initial examinations ruled out a fracture, but a subsequent check confirmed a non-displaced fracture of the scaphoid bone in his right hand.
Manenti will have to wear a brace for approximately 40 days before gradually returning to competitive activity.
«I crashed during the fourth stage, in the final part of the race, around one kilometre from the finish. Unfortunately, I was not able to avoid the crash. The first diagnosis ruled out any fracture, but after a second examination a non-displaced scaphoid fracture was found. It is definitely a forced stop, which is disappointing, but I’m looking ahead: I will return to racing with even more motivation and the desire to do well».
Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber wishes Marco a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back in the peloton soon.
