COMUNICATO STAMPA
From May 10 to 14, Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber will compete in the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Tour, a UCI 2.1 stage race marking the return of top-level professional cycling to Azerbaijan after almost a decade.
The Italian team will line up with six riders: Luca Covili, Filippo Cettolin, Alex Tolio, Alessio Martinelli, Marco Manenti and Andrea Montagner. Sports director Alessandro Donati will guide the team from the team car.
The race will consist of five stages featuring rolling terrain but no major mountain climbs. The stages expected to be decisive for the general classification are the second and the final one, both characterised by climbs and punchy uphill sections near the finish, while the remaining stages could suit reduced bunch sprints.
For Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber, Luca Covili and Alex Tolio will be the key riders for the toughest stages and the general classification, aiming to take advantage of a course suited to resilient climbers and stage-race specialists.
The line-up is completed by Filippo Cettolin, Alessio Martinelli, Marco Manenti and Andrea Montagner, riders who could play an important role in the rolling stages and faster finishes.
The race will be broadcast live on Discovery+ and HBO Max starting from 11:00 AM Italian time.
