BARDIANI-CSF 7 SABER: MANUELE TAROZZI IMMEDIATELY IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT THE GIRO, IN THE BREAKAWAY AND THIRD OVERALL.

COMUNICATO STAMPA

Il 8 May, 2026
The Italian rider animated the opening stage of the Giro d’Italia on Bulgarian roads, claimed the Red Bull KM and ended the day third in the general classification.

The Giro d’Italia started aggressively for Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber. In the opening stage, the 147 km Nessebar – Burgas, Manuele Tarozzi was among the main protagonists of the day thanks to a long breakaway formed in the early part of the race together with Spanish rider Diego Pablo Sevilla.

The Italian rider spent more than 120 kilometres at the front of the race, also winning the Red Bull KM, a result that allows him to lead the special classification and finish the day in third place overall.

The final kilometres were marked by a major crash with around 600 metres to go, an incident that split the peloton and compromised the chances of Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber sprinters Enrico Zanoncello and Filippo Magli, neither of whom was directly involved in the crash.

Despite this, the team ended the day with two riders in the Top 15: Magli in 13th place and Zanoncello in 15th.

Stage victory went to French rider Paul Magnier on the finish line in Burgas.

Tomorrow, the Giro will once again start from the Bulgarian city and finish in Veliko Tarnovo after 221 km on a rolling course.
