COMUNICATO STAMPA
Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber was among the protagonists on Stage 5 of the Tour de Langkawi, covering 125.7 km from Tapah to the iconic summit finish at Genting Highlands.
After around 30 km, the day’s breakaway was formed, with Edward Cruz among the seven riders who built an advantage of more than three minutes over the peloton. The young Colombian remained at the front until the start of the long final climb, featuring prominently on the toughest stage of the Malaysian race.
The race became increasingly selective on the climb to Genting Highlands. Luca Covili finished 16th, the best-placed Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber rider, while Cruz crossed the line in 18th after spending much of the day in the breakaway.
Nicolas Breuillard took the stage victory after launching the decisive attack with 2.6 km to go, ahead of Josh Burnett. Lennart Jasch retained the overall race lead.
