Filippo Turconi finished 11th on the second stage of the Giro d’Abruzzo, once again emerging as the best-placed Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber rider at the finish in Caramanico Terme.

The second stage, from Popoli Terme to Caramanico Terme, covered 143 kilometres over a demanding route featuring 2,500 metres of elevation gain and a predominantly uphill finale.

The victory went to Lennart Jasch, who launched the decisive move in the final kilometre. Behind him, Filippo Turconi finished with the chasing group, narrowly missing out on the Top 10 and taking 11th place.

Thanks to today’s result, the young Italian now sits 14th in the general classification.

Tomorrow, the Giro d’Abruzzo continues with Stage 3, covering 159 kilometres from Oricola-Piana del Cavaliere to San Benedetto dei Marsi.
