COMUNICATO STAMPA
Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber closed the Philadelphia Cycling Classic with Martin Marcellusi in 14th place and Filippo Magli in 15th, at the end of the 194-kilometre race.
The race was animated for several kilometres by a front group featuring Tim Torn Teutenberg, Sebastian Grindley, Robert Donaldson, Luke Lamperti, Riley Sheehan, Jonas Rutsch, Ben Oliver and Eder Frayre.
Behind them, several chasing groups formed, including one with Magli and Marcellusi, who remained in contention for a strong placing until the final part of the race.
With around 20 kilometres to go, the situation changed again as more riders managed to bridge across to the front. In the finale, Rutsch, Donaldson and Teutenberg attacked and opened a small but decisive gap, allowing them to fight for the victory in a reduced sprint.
The win went to Tim Torn Teutenberg of Lidl-Trek, ahead of Robert Donaldson and Jonas Rutsch.
For Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber, Marcellusi finished 14th and Magli 15th.
