Second consecutive Top10 finish for Filippo Cettolin and Marco Manenti at the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Tour.

Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber continued its strong run of results at the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Tour. In the third stage, the 162.9 km Gabala – Mingachevir, the Italian team secured two Top10 finishes thanks to Marco Manenti’s fifth place and Filippo Cettolin’s seventh.

For both riders, it was their second Top10 result in the opening days of the Azerbaijani race, confirming the consistency shown by the team in sprint finishes and in stages suited to fast riders.

The stage was once again decided in a bunch sprint after the peloton caught the day’s breakaway just over two kilometres from the finish. In the final sprint, won by XDS Astana rider Gleb Syritsa ahead of Timothy Dupont and Cristian David Pita, the Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber riders once again managed to finish among the best.

Marco Manenti took fifth place after a highly competitive sprint, while Filippo Cettolin, already fourth in the opening stage and leader of the young rider classification, confirmed his excellent form with another strong result.

The race will continue tomorrow with a stage that could offer new opportunities for the general classification contenders and the more resilient riders.
