CZECH TOUR: TURCONI FOURTH AND TOLIO TENTH OVERALL, BARDIANI-CSF 7 SABER WINS THE TEAM CLASSIFICATION.

Filippo Turconi finishes just outside the overall podium after taking fifth place in the final stage. Alex Tolio gains five positions to enter the final Top 10. Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber wins the team classification.

The Czech Tour ends with victory in the team classification for Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber, which also placed two riders in the Top 10 of the final stage and two in the Top 10 of the general classification.

 

In the fourth and final stage, finishing uphill in Pustevny, Filippo Turconi took fifth place, while Alex Tolio crossed the line in eighth. Alessandro Fancellu won the stage ahead of Andrew August and Nicolas Breuillard.

 

The stage was animated by a breakaway featuring Jakub Otruba, Mats Wenzel, Fabrizio Crozzolo, Geoffrey Bouchard and Michal Schuran, who were caught on the final climb. Around a dozen riders entered the final kilometre together, before Fancellu produced the decisive acceleration.

 

With his fifth-place finish, Filippo Turconi secured fourth place in the final general classification, 51 seconds behind overall winner Andrew August. Alex Tolio gained five positions to finish the Czech Tour in tenth place, while Luca Covili ended the race 15th overall.

 

The result was completed by first place in the team classification, rewarding Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber’s consistency across the four stages.
