Alessio Martinelli finished 10th on stage four of the Tour of Magnificent Qinghai, covering 196 kilometres from Huzhu to Guide. The Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber rider crossed the line 18 seconds behind stage winner Santiago Umba.

The cold stage featured the climb to Zongkalaize, which took the riders to an altitude of 3,800 metres. Umba won the three-rider sprint ahead of Jan Castellon and Emanuel Buchmann.

Castellon is the new race leader. Alex Tolio is ninth in the general classification, 24 seconds behind.
