COMUNICATO STAMPA
Marco Manenti secured his second victory of the season today. The Bardiani CSF 7 Saber rider from Bergamo won the Trofeo Città di Castelfidardo (1.2), the second and final race of the Due Giorni Internazionale Marchigiana, after a strong team performance from the squad managed by Roberto Reverberi.
Following his success in Stage 4 of the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan, Manenti once again raised his arms in celebration, crossing the line ahead of Davide Boscaro (Padovani Polo Cherry Bank) and Riccardo Fabbro (Trevigiani Energiapura Marchiol).
The race developed with an early breakaway, but the gap was constantly controlled by the peloton and especially by Bardiani CSF 7 Saber, who never allowed the attackers too much space. In the final part of the race, the team took full control and perfectly prepared the decisive sprint, where Manenti completed the work of his teammates with a flawless finish.
After the race, Marco Manenti said:
“Today we definitely got our revenge after yesterday, which was certainly an off day for us. We started the race with the goal of winning, especially because we were one of the three professional teams at the start. During the team meeting we had the task of controlling Solution Tech, MBH and Astana Devo. The race unfolded in quite a straightforward way because an early break went clear, but the peloton always kept it at around two to two-and-a-half minutes.”
