COMUNICATO STAMPA

Il 21 May, 2026
Seventh breakaway of this edition of the Corsa Rosa for the rider from Faenza, who spent over 110 kilometers out front.

Another attacking performance at the for and Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber. During Stage 12, from Imperia to Novi Ligure, the Italian rider was once again among the most active riders of the day, joining the main breakaway and spending more than 110 kilometers on the attack.

After an opening phase marked by continuous attacks and counterattacks, Tarozzi managed to make it into the day’s first move together with Geens, Van der Lee, Juan Pedro Lopez, and Mattia Bais. The peloton allowed the breakaway riders some room, with their advantage growing to around two minutes.

After being partially reeled in by the peloton following more than fifty kilometers in front, Tarozzi refused to give up and relaunched the move by joining a second breakaway group alongside Johan Jacobs, Jonas Rutsch, Fredrik Dversnes Lavik, Van der Lee, and Geens. Once again, the leading group built an advantage of over two minutes before the pace set by Team Movistar on the climbs of Colle Giovi and Bric Berton brought the action back together.

For Tarozzi, this was his seventh breakaway of this year’s Giro d’Italia, confirming him as the rider with the highest number of kilometers spent in breakaways in the entire race.
