Bardiani-CSF 7Saber opened the Tour of Rhodes with a podium thanks to Marco Manenti’s third place in the first stage, Maritsa – Martisa, over 154.7 km.

The Bergamo rider was among the main protagonists in the final part of the stage, securing a strong third place and claiming his second podium of the season, following his second place at the Rhodes GP a few days ago.

A solid performance also came from Luca Colnaghi, who finished eighth, giving Bardiani-CSF 7Saber two riders in the day’s Top 10.

Marco Manenti commented after the stage:
“It was a very hard race from the start and the pace was high in the finale. I’m satisfied with the third place, even if when you get so close to victory there is always a bit of regret. Anyway, it’s nice to be back on the podium after the Rhodes GP and it shows that my condition is good. The team worked very well and we’ll try to be protagonists again in the next stages.”
