Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber opened the Czech Tour with Filippo Turconi finishing seventh in the first stage, raced from Prague to Karlovy Vary over 163 kilometres.

After the breakaway was caught with around 20 kilometres remaining, the peloton set up for a bunch sprint. Turconi was well positioned in the finale, fighting for the top places and taking seventh place.

The victory went to Riley Sheehan, ahead of Ben Turner and Romet Pajur. Turconi was the first Italian rider across the line.

The race will become more selective from stage two, the 155-kilometre Mladá Boleslav–Ještěd stage, featuring the first uphill finish of the Czech Tour.
