The Roman rider attacked for over 100 kilometers on the way to Corno alle Scale.
Martin Marcellusi played a leading role in Stage 9, joining the day’s breakaway after around 40 kilometers together with Geens, Rubio, Milesi, Ballerini, Bais, Naberman, and Løland.
During the stage, the leading group gained an advantage of more than two minutes over the peloton, with the Roman rider consistently positioned near the front. After the arrival of Ciccone, Ulissi, and Aerts at the head of the race, Marcellusi continued to contribute to the move, also passing third at the intermediate sprint in Marzabotto.
His effort came to an end on the first decisive slopes of Querciola, after spending more than 100 kilometers on the attack.
