The Région Pays de la Loire Tour continues positively for Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber, who played a leading role in the second stage thanks to a strong performance by Martin Marcellusi. The Roman rider joined the day’s breakaway, managing to collect time bonuses at intermediate sprints and gaining a total of 8 seconds in the general classification.
Thanks to this result, Marcellusi moves up to third place overall, now 12 seconds behind race leader Ethan Vernon, winner of today’s stage.
In the finale, marked by a bunch sprint, there was also a strong performance from Enrico Zanoncello, who, well positioned, finished fifth, making him the first Italian across the line.
