Breakaway effort in the opening stage, the young rider from Varese finishes tenth in Barolo.

A strong start for Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber in the opening stage of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, from Barbaresco to Barolo (161 km).

The team was active from the early stages thanks to Manuele Tarozzi, who joined the day’s breakaway alongside seven other riders. The move built a gap of nearly three minutes over the peloton, with Tarozzi consistently among the most active. The break was caught with around 15 km to go, following the bunch’s acceleration on the final climbs.

In the selective finale, Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber stayed in contention with Filippo Turconi, who held position in the front group and secured a solid 10th place at the finish in Barolo.

Stage victory went to France’s Axel Laurance (INEOS Grenadiers), after a fast finish on a slight uphill drag
