COMUNICATO STAMPA
Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber confirms its strong start to the Tour of Rhodes with another podium, thanks to Lorenzo Conforti’s second place in the second stage, Rhodes – Kalithies, covering 158 km.
The Tuscan rider from Bardiani-CSF 7 Saber was among the main protagonists in the final sprint, finishing second behind Greek rider Nikiforos Arvanitou after a tight finish. For Conforti, this result marks his first podium of the season, while for the team it is the second in a row in the race, following Marco Manenti’s third place in yesterday’s opening stage.
Once again, the team led in the race by Luca Amoriello managed to place multiple riders among the top positions: Luca Colnaghi finished in fourth place, while Filippo Cettolin completed the Top 10 in tenth.
Lorenzo Conforti commented on the result at the end of the stage:
“It was a very fast and hard-fought stage from the start, and the pace was high in the final. I managed to find a good position for the sprint and I’m happy with the result. The team worked very well and we are showing that we can be competitive in this race. We will try to keep this momentum going in the next stages.”
